Fimo Friday

Glow in the dark!

These two dragons are the trouble dragons that I wrote about in a blog post here  I was fully expecting to snap the tails when putting the spider charms on. Unfortunately because of my luck both the dragons have a wobble due to their tails being in the air, so the dice are glue in their hands to weigh them and stop the wobble.

Freaking love this guy, just love the horns and the colours, though this time I have used a slightly lighter green for the belly and accents than I usually do. Also made completely with Sculpey Souffle

This guy is also made with Sculpey Souffle, I really like using this clay and might continue to do so.

All these guys are in my shop here and there are more images there too.

An update

Whats been going on since I last posted in here: I got a new type of varnish for my polymer clay models, its a UV resin and it cures in a UV box:

So now that I don't have to wait a week for the varnish on my dragons to dry I can have them made and in the shop much quicker! as the box cures the resin in 10 to 15 mins!

So this little chap was the first dragon to have the new varnish:

The resin gives a very high gloss shine

I also varnished some new pumpkins with it as well and you can see the comparison here:

old varnish on the left and new on the right.

The new pumpkins are also in the shop with the Poison dragon here

I did also make another octopus but apparently I haven't photograph it yet hmmm...

I am slowly working on Inktober as well, but I'll make another post for that a bit later.

Halloween D20 dragon

I have had this guy made for a while now but wanted to wait till closer to Halloween to post him but as my productivity is zilch at the moment (due to a bad back that prevents me from sitting at a desk comfortably) I thought I'd post him now. Also I really love him and waiting to show him off was getting too much lol.

Made from Fimo Polymer clay which means the tail stayed lovely and curved, The D20 is removable. I suppose he doesn't really look Halloweeny but it was definitely my inspiration when making him.

Halloween and dragons

Halloween earrings that I have been working on for the last few months are listed in my Etsy. New for this year are the eyeball jar earrings and the plain pumpkin earrings. I am currently working on some Jack o Lantern stud earrings but they are proving tricky.

Snowflake Earrings

I've been working on a new design for my snowflake earrings this year that I think make them even more sparkly and pretty

Instead of the glittery clay I have used a pearlescent clay which shimmers, and I have added a Swarovski bicone bead to each earring. These are available in both Etsy and Folksy shops. They are also available in gift boxes as well, and for anyone who liked the glittery snowflakes I still have a few of them available too.
Shiny Swarovski bead.

Something I forgot to post in my Halloween themed post was this chainmaille bracelet I made to wear around Halloween. I made a Halloween charm bracelet too but I broke it :(

Blogiversary

My little blog is 2 years old today! Yay!

So what have I been up to this week? well I've been working on my knitting again:

I plan on knitting a few squares each week and maybe in a years time I will have enough for a blanket. I got the idea from this blog http://bugsandfishes.blogspot.co.uk/ and her sky blanket shes been working on. Anyway I hope that I will get better and that the improvement will be able to be tracked in the squares :)
Last week I ordered some stickers from Moo.com to go on the orders from my shops, and they arrived today! I am so pleased with them, I want to stick them on everything now! but I won't as that be a waste, well maybe a few....

And as its fimo Friday I have not one but two projects that I've been working on:

Halloween dragon!

Made from mostly Premo Clay, I love the green accents colour its so pretty! I've used a different varnish to what I usually varnish my clay creations, so he is even more glossy!
Under 2 inches high, 2.5 long and 2 inches at the widest part and sits quite happily in my hand.
And my second dragon who I have just finished today (so much so the varnish was still wet when taking photos)

Dragons Dust. Made from the shimmery blue and white clay, he has a little vial of dragons dust.

Had some problems with this one, first off one of the wings came off after baking so he had to go back in for a second bake to fix it, but that caused his horns to get singed :( I managed to sort the white horns but as you can see the blue horn singe is still visible. Also the tail is suppose to be more wrapped around the vial but in the oven it unstuck from its place. Oh well..

Pumpkins

Been working on some Halloween fimo the last week:

I know that anyone following my blog/facebook for a year will know that these are nothing new, but last year i didn't have enough time to make any to sell only enough for my own use. So i now have these Jack o lanterns and Eyeball cakes for sale in my Folksy and Etsy shops!

Here are some real life pumpkins grown at my mothers allotment!
Looking forward to carving and decorating these!

New stuffs!

Finally got round to making all the recent fimo into jewellery today and photographed. Here are a few pieces that i am pleased with:

These are my favourite cakes ever! i love how these turned out, they did take quite a while to make but so so pleased with the result.
This i had been planning for a while i just never had the motivation to do it. I do have another Halloween bracelet that is purple and green but i feel its not finished yet.
Yay, these are so cute!
I work in an art shop and i am an artist so i thought it was only fitting i make some paint palette earrings to wear at work :)

More Halloween

Today's jobs started with varnishing all the fimo i have made recently and then gluing the metal bits in as well, both jobs i dislike very much.

My device for letting beads dry, i call it the bead washing line lol
My new Halloween cake i made yesterday and baked today. Its Glow in the Dark and has a spider web decoration :D

Next job is to assemble all the charms and beads in to bracelets and then i can decide if i need to make any more.

Progress so far with the Halloween fimo:

Still to do:
Another cake to make, glue the metal bits in and varnishing everything, then assemble into bracelets. I wish my headache would go away....
