Chainmaille Bracelets

These have been made for a while but haven't been uploaded due to me not being happy with the photographs of them. However after a hunt around the garden today I have found some slate!

This one is called Black Ice, I wanted to make a bracelet that a man could wear, and I think this fits the bill.
This one is called Rainbow (imaginative aren't i?) I like how its not overly rainbow in your face. Both of these are listed in my Etsy.

Wip Wednesday

Something I am working on at the moment: Hartmann's mountain zebra. Currently sketched on Saunders Waterford high white watercolour block. It will be painted with watercolours later on this week.

Work in progress Wednesday

This is a work in progress of my Chapmans' Zebra painting. Acrylics on a Fabriano Pittura pad. Its unusual for me to work with such a muted colour scheme.

Sketching Saturday

This is one of (hopefully) a regular schedule of blog posts. Sketching Saturday, every Saturday i intend to post any sketches that i have worked on during the week. It could also be Sewing Saturday but i haven't done any sewing for a couple of weeks now :(

For a change i decided to dig out some photos i had taken of zebras, with the intention of learning the difference between the different types. Marwell Zoo happens to have 3 subspecies: Chapman's, Grevy's and Hartmann's Zebras, however i have only managed to get good photos of two of them.

This is a Grevy's Zebra, lots of stripes.

This one is a Chapman's Zebra, really big black stripes, easier to draw lol.

Second drawing of the Chapman's, on Pittura Acrylic paper ready to be painted in acrylics. Refined the sketch as the jaw was too long on the first sketch and the mouth wasn't right.

And here is a finished sketch of a Bald eagle i drew over 2 weeks ago and forgot about, whoops.

Another Chainmail bracelet

Using blue, light blue and purple jump rings.
I made this one just a bit longer so its easier to get on. So pretty :)

Adventures with Chainmaille

Or Chain mail, however its spelt.

Byzantine weave, this was tricky to get started but once I had the technique down there was no stopping me.

100 silver rings and 48 coloured rings to make an 18cm bracelet. Just under 2 hours to make. Makes a nice changed to work on something different and new, i can see more chainmaille projects in the future lol.
