SkullyJuly and Skulladay

So last year I started my creative sprint of #Skulladay in July and it coincided with #skullyjuly but I didn't draw a skull each consecutive day and I think it took me till the end of August before I finished my 30 skulls. Anyway this year I want to do better, I want to complete all 30 skulls in July. This year I have these two to help me :) and a list of materials and stuff I can use to help keep the pieces I create exciting and interesting for those who follow me.

This is a Roe deer skull and I am using some of the supplies from June's Scrawlrbox (which reminds me I need to make another post about that) I am trying to come up with some ideas for the prompt Twisted Reality.

This is day 2, I have no idea how or why it came out so long but after drawing the right side too long instead of binning the drawing off I wanted to see what I could do with my left hand, and apparently its not draw a single straight line lol. Anyway I thought it was fun and I would still post it for my skull a day even if it is pants.

Some Scrawlr Sketches

Practicing with the supplies, but I still haven't done the challenge yet, eek.

Blogmas day 9

Here is my actual piece of art for the Scrawlr challenge 'Born from bubbles' (yesterdays post was a practice piece). I really love this guy and I think using the blue metallic pen on this piece as well would have ruined it. They say you have to use only the supplies in the box, doesn't mean you have to use them all.  Hey look I put the right date this time lol.

Did some more wrapping of presents and I started on the labels but I don't really like what I made so back to the drawing board.

Skull-a-Day Creative sprint

For the last 2 weeks I have been working on a Skull-a-day project. Having slightly more success at doing this daily than my Inktober projects. If you follow my Instagram or Facebook then you will have already seen these:

So far I've only missed 4 days, I think I am having more success because I am not limited to one medium, its fun to use anything and everything I have accumulated over many years.

Sketching Saturday

Another Macaw drawing, this one is done on Strathmore Toned Gray paper, with Luminance white pencil and Coloursoft Black pencil. I really love how it came out, I've wanted to do this style of drawing for many years. Yes I probably did go overkill with the white, lol I was having too much fun.

Sketching Saturday

Here is the next page in my sketchbook finished this week. Birds of Prey or more specifically falcons. I am really loving using biro at the moment!

Sketching Saturday

I'm trying to fill my new Ebony A4 sketchbook with many sketches, and trying to have loads of the same subject on the same page. So here is a page I scanned (hence the grey area top left). I tried to spend about an hour or less on each sketch.

Next week I'll post the current page I'm drawing (its Falcons).

I'm going to be putting warhammer blog posts on my new blog vaultreasures.blogspot.co.uk as I have quite a few posts already planned and don't want to spam this blog with them.

Final inktober week

Yay, I managed to do a couple more than last year! It was quite a challenge to find things to draw, or things that I could draw. Anyway I am pleased with what I drew and I even ventured out of my comfort zone a couple of times. I also think I got into the groove a bit more towards the end, utilising cross-hatching for shading.

This weeks Inktober

This week started out with a nature theme then I ran out of things to draw so I found an old SLR camera and then finally a bit of fan art from Star wars. All drawn with Staedtler fineliner pens and a Derwent Graphik Grey pen, and a smidge of watercolours.

Inktober so far

Sketched up in pencil first, then I go over the lines with Staedtler fineliners or Derwent Graphik pens and in the case of the moon; Papermate flair pen. Some are better then others and some have more time spent on then others. Its a good challenge for myself, not only to try to draw something everyday but also trying to shade in pen (which you can probably tell I am not very good at lol). I am also trying to do different subjects as well like buildings, not just sticking to animals.

March Art

Weeee! another dog commission! March was spent mostly working on this painting of a friends dog, and then I was away on holiday for a week so unable to post online. Any way Watercolours on Arches watercolour paper, A4.

I was also able to work on this drawing as well, which if anyone has liked my Facebook page will have already seen it. I really like how it turned out, and it started as a quick sketch when I was out with my best friend.
