February Scrawlrbox

I really like the supplies in this box, they seem a bit random but the pens are all felt tips so they work well with being blended. The prompt was Plumage and with the colours in the box I went with a Macaw. Looking on social media it looks like the spectrum noir aquatint pen has different colours, I got moonlight which is yellow so my box essentially had 3 yellow pens.

Really pleased with how the macaw came out even if the green that I had mixed on the masking tap leaked on to the paper :(

Copic Ciao

I don't know if anyone remembers my personal project that I started working on this time last year? Here is the blog post

Anyway I think I got sidetracked with skull-a-day, scrawlrbox and stock for the shop. I got these Copic Ciao pens for Christmas and was itching to use them so I attempted to draw my Macaw with them. I like the feathers on the wing but I don't think I did a good job on the rest lol.

I had fun using them and I like the result.

Sketching Saturday

Another Macaw drawing, this one is done on Strathmore Toned Gray paper, with Luminance white pencil and Coloursoft Black pencil. I really love how it came out, I've wanted to do this style of drawing for many years. Yes I probably did go overkill with the white, lol I was having too much fun.

Watercolour Wednesday

I've got a little project going on, something I've been wanting to do for a few years, I've wanted to challenge myself to recreate the same image but in different media, to see how different a picture can look when its made with different paint. Often when I start a picture in one media I get halfway through and think "This would be much easier or look better in

So this is watercolours, Winsor and Newton, I started off with my favourite as its something I have the most experience with and I have a lot of the paints so no mixing lol.  I'm planning to recreate this image with: 2 more brands of Watercolours, Acrylics, Oils, Graphite, Biro, Ink and colouring pencils.

Though I don't know what one I will do next. My instagram has slighty more frequent posts and possibly some behind the scenes pics.
