Some Dragons

As its getting closer to Christmas there is not a lot I can blog about as I am busy making gifts for friends and family and I can't post about them till after they have received them at Christmas, but here are two dragons I have made recently:

Orange and Black, nice and simple.

and Black and Gold, I really love this colour combination! Also as I was making him the gold mica particles were sticking to my hands then transferring on the black and has made a really cool effect on his body. Tricky to photograph though.
This little dragon may be up for sale in my shop soon (that's if I don't get too attached!)

Buttons!

I have been busy this week working on some commissions so I can't post pictures just yet. However this week I received some more buttons to refill my button collections!

Yummy Red
Christmas selection

and I wanted some blues to liven up my mixed selection of coloured buttons. All these buttons are from www.Bloomingfelt.co.uk if you like me feel the need for more buttons (you can never have enough)

Another project I am working on requires some felt balls, so I have 1.5cm balls from Bloomingfelt and 2cm balls from www.Lovepaperfish.com

You might be able to guess what the theme is from the colours I have ;)

Snowflake Earrings

I've been working on a new design for my snowflake earrings this year that I think make them even more sparkly and pretty

Instead of the glittery clay I have used a pearlescent clay which shimmers, and I have added a Swarovski bicone bead to each earring. These are available in both Etsy and Folksy shops. They are also available in gift boxes as well, and for anyone who liked the glittery snowflakes I still have a few of them available too.
Shiny Swarovski bead.

Something I forgot to post in my Halloween themed post was this chainmaille bracelet I made to wear around Halloween. I made a Halloween charm bracelet too but I broke it :(

Also today is National black cat day. Here is my cat Suki helping me make a bracelet.

Helping me with my sewing.

Dragons Dust Red

I wasn't able to post this dragon until now as she was a gift.

I used Fimo for the body instead of Premo and the tail didn't unwrap whilst in the oven yay! so now she holds the vial of Dragons dust securely.

The two together.

Blogiversary

My little blog is 2 years old today! Yay!

So what have I been up to this week? well I've been working on my knitting again:

I plan on knitting a few squares each week and maybe in a years time I will have enough for a blanket. I got the idea from this blog http://bugsandfishes.blogspot.co.uk/ and her sky blanket shes been working on. Anyway I hope that I will get better and that the improvement will be able to be tracked in the squares :)
Last week I ordered some stickers from Moo.com to go on the orders from my shops, and they arrived today! I am so pleased with them, I want to stick them on everything now! but I won't as that be a waste, well maybe a few....

And as its fimo Friday I have not one but two projects that I've been working on:

Halloween dragon!

Made from mostly Premo Clay, I love the green accents colour its so pretty! I've used a different varnish to what I usually varnish my clay creations, so he is even more glossy!
Under 2 inches high, 2.5 long and 2 inches at the widest part and sits quite happily in my hand.
And my second dragon who I have just finished today (so much so the varnish was still wet when taking photos)

Dragons Dust. Made from the shimmery blue and white clay, he has a little vial of dragons dust.

Had some problems with this one, first off one of the wings came off after baking so he had to go back in for a second bake to fix it, but that caused his horns to get singed :( I managed to sort the white horns but as you can see the blue horn singe is still visible. Also the tail is suppose to be more wrapped around the vial but in the oven it unstuck from its place. Oh well..

Watercolour Wednesday

Ok so I haven't done any watercolours this week but here are 2 that I have done this month.

Robin, this is done in my little Moleskine watercolour book, I am not really happy with the colours but it does look like a robin so I guess I should shut up.
and a male Chaffinch A5 size. I really like the blush colour :)

Also my shops are now stocked with Christmas earrings! and the pumpkins too :) Etsy Folksy

Look at their happy faces :)

Fimo Friday

Now that i finally have access to my craft room again and the weather is a bit cooler, I have been able to work on some fimo stock for my shops:

Gingerbread men! om nom nom nom. These will be divided between my Folksy shop and my Etsy shop around August/Sept time.

Something else I have made is this beautiful charm bracelet. I bought the pack from Spoilt Rotten Beads after spying the tutorial in Craftseller magazine. I did swap two of the charms for some charms I liked better, the Bee and the Hummingbird :)

Sketching Saturday Beans 2

Beans 2. Finished a few days ago, Graphite, photo reference used.

This cat is almost impossible to get to sit still long enough to photograph, so what she is looking at is a cat treat so i could get her to face me long enough to get a photo lol.

Moomin 2

Another sketch of Moomin. This one took longer then the other as the angle of the photo and the fact that i am right handed meant that i struggled with some aspects of the picture, especially the eyes.

Graphite, mostly HB to 4B on good quality cartridge paper.

Sketching Saturday

My cat Moomin, sketched yesterday, there are a few things I could do to it still but i need to learn to stop before I ruin things.

Graphite on cartridge paper, photo reference used.

Another Chainmaille bracelet, I love making these (as you might have guessed lol)

It will be up in my Etsy shop in a little while.

Sketching Sunday

Here's something i was working on yesterday:

My cat Suki, Graphite. Not quite finished, I would like to make it darker as she is a black cat.

This is the last drawing i did of her, this must have been 6 years ago, I think. I think there's been an improvement :)

Wip Wednesday

Ok so the Zebra painting from last week went a bit wrong when I attempted the background so that one will be re drawn and painted at a later date. However I discovered a painting that I started many months ago and stopped for some reason (I have no clue why) So in the lovely sunshine we had yesterday I continued it:

Amur Tiger, Watercolours. Still have most of the right side of her to paint and some more fur detail to do.

Chainmaille Bracelets

These have been made for a while but haven't been uploaded due to me not being happy with the photographs of them. However after a hunt around the garden today I have found some slate!

This one is called Black Ice, I wanted to make a bracelet that a man could wear, and I think this fits the bill.
This one is called Rainbow (imaginative aren't i?) I like how its not overly rainbow in your face. Both of these are listed in my Etsy.
