April's ScrawlrBox

April's Scrawlrbox!, I'm always super happy when I hear the box drop through the mail box. I was excited to try markers, but it was challenging to use just one colour and shades of grey. The prompt was stranger worlds, and I was kind of a bit lost as to what to do so I settled on an old favourite of mine; skulls.

I am pleased with the outcome, I could have left it as the skull but I wanted to incorporate the colour, so settled on stripes in the background.

Travel Watercolours

I like going out with my best friend and attempting to paint on location (it never works but I still like to try). So this is a condensed version of my watercolours that fit into my handbag:

13 x 21cm Watercolour Moleskine book
Winsor and Newton artist half pans in a Altoids mint tin
A tube of white gouache, Daler Rowney
My favourite sizes of Serise 7 watercolour brushes; 0,1 and 3
2 Waterbrushes
A new addition to the collection is a tiny Chinese travel brush
A collapsible waterpot
Water bottle or spray botttle
Some Kitchen roll for mistakes and drying the palettes before going back in the bag
1 or 2 tiny paint palettes
A sponge for some texture
Then pencil, sharpener and rubber for the drawing part of painting.

Sketching Saturday

Another Macaw drawing, this one is done on Strathmore Toned Gray paper, with Luminance white pencil and Coloursoft Black pencil. I really love how it came out, I've wanted to do this style of drawing for many years. Yes I probably did go overkill with the white, lol I was having too much fun.
