Art Snacks December box

I think, it arrived on the 10th so that makes it Decembers box right?

Anyway another uninspiring box, I already have the faber castell pens and the Krink marker is weird as you can't write over it so really limits it use. I will probably use the tombow fudenosuke pen and the draughting pencil at some point.

November Scrawlrbox

I like the look of this box a lot, the colours, the variety of the mark making tools, I'm excited to play with these!

Scrawlrbox and Art snacks

So I've been a bit busy with restocking the shop that I haven't had time for the last 2 months of Scrawlrbox and also updating this blog lol.

So these pens were September's box, perfect for Inktober (which I also didn't do) and the prompt was Jazz Noir.

And this box was October's box, nice Derwent pencils and some coloured paper, the prompt is Washed ashore.

Novembers box hopefully will be dropping through the letter box soon.

So far I am underwhelmed, the box doesn't come with any paper nor a prompt to work on or an artist to inspire you. I'm also pretty sure its more expensive then the Scrawlrbox. However because of the size of box it comes in (it doesn't fit through the letter box) it can have pots of paint, like the Liquitex acrylic gouache in this months box. I'm going to give art snacks another month to wow me and then I will probably cancel the subscription.

ScrawlrBox August

Came back from a weekend away to find August's Scrawlrbox waiting for me. I am really happy with the supplies, though having a water soluble pencil when the colours are water soluble means that anything drawn will smudge and blend when the wet colours are added. The prompt is false prayer and I think I might go for a very obscure version of that as I don't draw people or hands.

I love the rainbow colouring on these guys and so do a lot of people on Instagram. the single d20 has already gone to a new home but I have some more dice arriving hopefully later this week so I can get them restocked.

So last month we had some papers from Carolina Ghelfi and this month it seems to be sponsored by them. Not sure how I feel about another brand having quite a large influence over the box. 

Anyway I won't be doing a bullet journal, I am going to draw something with the pens (probably a skull lol) 

I do like the little Scrawlrbox stamp though hehe.

ScrawlrBox Saturday

So this was June's box and I am so happy to finally try Chameleon pencils (June's Box last year was Chameleon pens). Nice to have another black pen to add to my collection lol, and this box has 10 sheets of paper! plus one sheet of tracing paper. The glue pen I will probably end up not using and adding it to the stationery box.

Twisted Reality is the prompt and I am unsure how I can incorporate skulls into it lol.

SkullyJuly and Skulladay

So last year I started my creative sprint of #Skulladay in July and it coincided with #skullyjuly but I didn't draw a skull each consecutive day and I think it took me till the end of August before I finished my 30 skulls. Anyway this year I want to do better, I want to complete all 30 skulls in July. This year I have these two to help me :) and a list of materials and stuff I can use to help keep the pieces I create exciting and interesting for those who follow me.

This is a Roe deer skull and I am using some of the supplies from June's Scrawlrbox (which reminds me I need to make another post about that) I am trying to come up with some ideas for the prompt Twisted Reality.

This is day 2, I have no idea how or why it came out so long but after drawing the right side too long instead of binning the drawing off I wanted to see what I could do with my left hand, and apparently its not draw a single straight line lol. Anyway I thought it was fun and I would still post it for my skull a day even if it is pants. 

Paint pouring experiments

So I had a little break from making dragons and spent the week playing the new Jurassic world evolution game, its really fun and it was so good to do something else and recharge my creative batteries. This week I attempted some paint pouring, still got a long way to go but I quite like the effects I have achieved 

ScrawlrBox Saturday

I quite like this box, the colours are very spring-like and I love another excuse to play with markers again. I've never heard of the Micron PN pen before so its something new to play with and the Gelly Roll gel pen is something thats been on my amazon wish list for a while and now I don't have to buy it lol 

The prompt is Woodland Creatures, though I think I may do a different subject.

Decided to go with a Sumatran Tiger as the colours fitted, I quite enjoyed the pens and am pleased with the result.

Scrawlr box April

Ok so apparently I haven't photographed the April Scrawlrbox contents separately from the art. I am really pleased with this box, so much better than last months, I can actually make some art with the supplies! 

The box had Derwent Graphitint pencils in and I know they are water soluble but we weren't supplied with a brush so I wasn't sure about leaving them as is or adding water to them. So I photographed the picture before adding water in case I ruined my pic but I am so glad I did add water as it looks so much better!
