SrawlrBox March

Super excited for my next box to arrive and it did on Tuesday. I was not disappointed when I opened the box, Pastels! yay, was a bit stuck as to what to draw as the prompt was cosmic landscape and I like painting galaxies and space but there was no pink or purple pastel!

Really pleased with the outcome, even if my scanner has killed the colours, the top photo is more true to the original. To make the stars I used my craft knife and scraped off some white pastel and mixed it with water then used a toothbrush to flick the pastel paint over the drawing. Didn't actually get to using the pastel pencils, so they will add to my collection.

Watercolour Wednesday

I've got a little project going on, something I've been wanting to do for a few years, I've wanted to challenge myself to recreate the same image but in different media, to see how different a picture can look when its made with different paint. Often when I start a picture in one media I get halfway through and think "This would be much easier or look better in

So this is watercolours, Winsor and Newton, I started off with my favourite as its something I have the most experience with and I have a lot of the paints so no mixing lol.  I'm planning to recreate this image with: 2 more brands of Watercolours, Acrylics, Oils, Graphite, Biro, Ink and colouring pencils.

Though I don't know what one I will do next. My instagram has slighty more frequent posts and possibly some behind the scenes pics.

Fimo Friday

Nice little photo dump there. I wanted to get myself up to date on here with what I have been making this year. Some are avaliable in the shop, others have already sold and some like the snake and Poké Ball earrings are things I made for me.

ScrawlrBox February

I got my first subscription box! yay! and its an art one with art things in. I have always wanted a subscription box but couldn't really justify Lootcrates price and after seeing a few crate openings there would be a few things that I have no interest in. So when I found out that there are art supply boxes there was very little hesitation lol. Scrawlrbox is a Uk box so no pricey postage and it fits through the letter box so no waiting for the post man.

This is February's box, so hopefully by now there wont be any spoilers for anyone waiting for theirs. I was super happy when I opened the box and saw acrylics. I like painting with acrylics but I don't do it often enough.

Wasn't sure at first what I could paint with the given colours, I initially thought about a tiger but tigers have a lot white on their faces and would probably be too much of a challenge.

So I went with a lion, bit more yellow then my reference photo but I was trying to stick to the colours I was give as part of the Scrawlrbox challenge.

Some more acrylic brushes to add my collection as you can never have too many.

Loved the mechanical pencil, need to buy myself some more refills as I can see me using it a lot more. I didn't actually use the Acrylic marker for this painting, its a chisel tip so too big for my painting.

Definitely going to keep the subscription going for another month, can't wait till March's Box arrives.
